Their Story: Esperanza is a 9 year old mare who was rescued on a feedlot in Colorado at about 6 months of age along with her sister. Her sister was not so lucky and passed away a few hours before being picked up to go to quarantine, they were both sick with strangles. Esperanza has always been wise beyond her age, she is very calm, generous and intelligent which has pushed her into the role of lead mare. Those who have known her from the start know how she went from a scared and reactive unhandled filly to a very peaceful mare.
